Trans boy reinstated as male lead in 'Oklahoma!' and offered apology
A transgender student was initially prohibited from playing the male lead in his school's production of Oklahoma! due to a new policy.
After facing intense backlash, the school modified the policy to allow students to play different genders, but also changed the production to be more child-friendly.
There was strong community support for the transgender student, with over 60 individuals speaking in his defense at a school board meeting. [ more ]
